La Dame de Montrose 2010 St Estephe
A lovely, velvety La Dame with supple tannins, dark berry fruit, tobacco and touch of cedar. The St Estephe tannins have been well tamed and rounded with a plushness that is well done. The flavors are lifted and the sweet fruit profile comes through in the finish. 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 41% Merlot.
The second wine of Chateau Montrose is generously fruity with plenty of blueberry and black berry fruits alongside cedar and earthy notes. Rich and seductive on the palate with silky tannins.

This represents 36% of the production and is a blend of two grapes – 64% Cabernet Sauvignon and 36% Merlot. Château Montrose is one of the leading wine properties of St.Estéphe, and produces some of the longest-lived wines in the Médoc. Montrose's wine is typically a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc and is matured in oak barriques (30% new) for 18 months.
Montrose wines are traditionally deeply coloured, austere and powerful when young, yet possess superb ageing potential, and when mature are quintessential St.Estèphe clarets. Montrose is classified as a 2ème Cru Classé.
