Bandol 2014, Domaine du Gros Nore - Bandol

A blend of 80% Mouvedre, 12% Grenache, 5% Cinsault and 2% Carignan and aged for 18 months in oak barrels. A very ripe, lush, prune-scented nose with creme de cassis, kirsch and fig. Rich with a lot of glycerine, very powerful and rather ostentatious but with good acidity cutting through thick layers of sweet black fruits. Persistent, luscious finish. Great length and a great, vivacious Bandol. 91 Points Wine Advocate

Domaine du Gros Nore - Bandol, La Cadiére d'Azur, Provence

Domaine de Gros' Noré is situated on the outskirts of the picturesque Provencal hilltop village of La Cadière d’Azur, set back from the hustle of the coast. Alain Pascal, the owner of Gros' Noré first produced his own wine in 1997, prior to this the grapes were sold to Chateau de Pibarnon. The vineyards were handed down from his father, Honore, who worked the vineyards but never made his own wine.

Alain named his domaine to pay homage to his father, who was called Gros’ Noré, for his imposing stature and calm, who also guided his first steps in the culture of wine, his love of the ground and his passion for wine. A developing domaine with a reputation that is growing year by year. New facilities for entertainment and weddings were finished in 2005.
This is a domaine that has captured our heart with the stunning quality of wine, warmth of welcome and beautiful location!
